Tehran Bourse Opens the Week With a Fresh Record: Main Index Reaches 8.27 Million Points Midday Saturday

The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TEDPIX) climbed to 8,266,385 points by 11:30 in midday trading on Saturday, 18 Mehr 1405 (October 10, 2026), up 1.66 percent, or 135,305 points. That is above the previous record close of 8,131,092 points set on Wednesday, 15 Mehr (October 7), and a new all-time high for the index. At the same hour the equal-weight index rose 1.02 percent to 2,172,269 points, and the Farabourse main index gained 1.12 percent to 65,167. Turnover on the Tehran bourse had reached about 31.4 thousand billion tomans at that moment.

The daily Donya-e-Eqtesad wrote in its reports today that, after crossing the 8 million mark, the bourse stands at a fresh historic level with a year-to-date return of 119 percent. It lists continued inflows from individual investors and solid company earnings reports as supports, and technical resistance, a market price-to-earnings ratio at its highest in three years, and political and economic uncertainty as risks of a pullback.
