Falsafi, a member of parliament for Tehran and a member of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environment Commission, said on Friday, 23 Mordad 1405 (August 14, 2026), that he had submitted a three-urgency bill titled the "Resistance Economy Law" to parliament. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, he described the bill's goal as rescuing the economy and restoring stability, saying the economy needs surgery rather than shock therapy, and that it proposes measures to stabilize the exchange rate and encourage public investment participation.
The MP also pointed to rising rice production costs since the removal of the preferential exchange rate, saying the way to control prices is to cut out middlemen and strengthen production cooperatives. He added that the Agriculture Commission has pushed for higher fuel quotas for farmers, and that under a recent decision, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company is to add a combined 200 million liters to the agricultural sector's fuel quota in Mordad and Shahrivar 1405 (August-September 2026).
