Seyed Reza Abbasabadi, head of the tyre and motor oil commission at Iran's Chamber of Guilds, said on Monday, 19 October 2026, that a direct-sales scheme for the products will be piloted from 23 October at 300 locations in Tehran. Domestic tyre factories and four main oil producers will supply cooperatives, which will deliver the goods to licensed retailers. Abbasabadi said the guild body will oversee distribution and cooperatives will receive a limited handling margin. The announcement concerns a forthcoming pilot, not nationwide availability on the day of the announcement.
