Imports of Personal Cars by Iranians Abroad Resume With Clearance Deadline at End of 1405

According to ISNA, as carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad on 20 October 2026 (28 Mehr 1405), Iran's customs authority and the Trade Promotion Organization have authorised imports of personal passenger cars owned by Iranians living abroad until the end of the Iranian year 1405. Order registration, declaration and final clearance for these cars must be completed by the end of office hours at the latest in 1405, and local customs offices are obliged to manage the process under Article 92 of the 1405 budget-law rules.
The procedure had earlier stalled over customs' seven conditions for the temporary clearance of cars lacking a value identifier and a halt to plate numbering until prices were settled. Boursenews also reported the same day that a clearance deadline through the end of 1405 had been communicated. The origin of the currency and the valuation of the cars in the relevant working group remain under oversight bodies' scrutiny.
