Tehran prosecutor annuls a 12,500 billion rial contract between a private company and two state aviation firms

According to the judiciary, the Tehran prosecutor said on Thursday 30 July 2026 that a contract concluded between a private company and two state-owned companies operating in aviation has been annulled following the prosecutor's intervention. Under the contract, the state aviation company was to deduct up to 12,500 billion rials of the private company's debts in return for investments it had made.
The Tehran prosecutor said examinations showed the amount had been set without relying on the necessary valuation and expert assessment and without sufficient documentation or legal and economic basis, and that carrying out the contract would have imposed heavy financial obligations and damaged the government's rights and interests. For that reason the matter was pursued as a special case following the Tehran prosecutor's intervention, and the contract was annulled through legal measures.
He added that the action was taken within the framework of judiciary policies on preventing the loss of public rights, improving the integrity of the administrative system, supervising large contracts and countering the conclusion of contracts lacking expert backing, and that the Tehran prosecutor's office is continuing to monitor significant contracts and its oversight work.
