Tehran Regional Electricity Company says grid overload cut power to part of Saleh Abad
31 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The Tehran Regional Electricity Company said in a notice on the evening of Thursday, July 30, 2026, that a technical incident caused by overloading on one of the supply lines to the Saleh Abad district in southwestern Tehran had left some customers in the area with restricted power supply.
According to the notice, operational teams were dispatched to the site to fix the technical fault and restore stability to the network. The company apologised to affected customers and asked other subscribers to help stabilise the grid by cutting their electricity consumption significantly.
The disruption comes with energy imbalance among the main themes in Iran's economy in recent months. Iran's Supreme Energy Council on Thursday issued a programme to ease energy restrictions on industry, and the president's executive deputy had warned of a possible shortfall of about 100 million cubic metres of gas per day in the coming winter.
