Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) closed Monday, September 21, 2026 (30 Shahrivar 1405) down 11,536 points, or about 0.16 percent, at 7,280,000 points, while the equal weight index fell close to 0.5 percent, a steeper decline. Trading value on the main board reached about 748 trillion rials for the day, according to Sahmino's own exchange data. EcoIran reported the market opened balanced but rising supply at positive price levels prevented a sustained rally, with roughly half of listed symbols closing higher and half lower. Retail investors brought in a net of about 800 billion tomans, a reversal from the prior session's roughly 7 trillion toman net outflow. Foulad Mobarakeh (Fameli) and Shapna weighed most on the index, while Fars Chemical (Fars) contributed the most on the upside. Comments a day earlier from Donald Trump, who said he was deciding on Iran and hinted at major developments soon, along with Qatar's continued mediation efforts to help resume Iran-US talks, were among the political factors weighing on trading sentiment.
