Tehran's main stock index (TEDPIX) ended Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405) down 79,962 points (1.23 percent) from the previous day, closing at 6,503,971. Per Sahmino's own recorded data as of 13:24 Tehran time, corroborated by tgju.org, the close trimmed part of the day's steeper intraday loss, which Donya-e-Eqtesad reported had reached near 6,432,000 at the daily low. Donya-e-Eqtesad also reported that trading value across shares, pre-emptive rights and equity funds had reached 40,531 billion tomans by 13:48. The decline coincided with intensifying Iran-US military tension and a jump in the free-market dollar rate.
