According to a weekly wrap of Tehran Stock Exchange trading published by Bourse News on Saturday, 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405), the equity market turned higher again after two weeks of correction. The equal weight index rose 5.66 percent last week to 1,432,000 points, its best weekly performance in six weeks and a new all time high.
Over the same week the main TEDPIX index rose 3.9 percent to 5,075,000 points, recovering a significant part of the decline of the two preceding weeks and moving back above the psychological threshold of 5 million points. The equal weight index outpacing the main index indicates that liquidity flowed mainly toward small and mid sized companies. Since the start of the Iranian year 1405, the equal weight index has returned about 50 percent against about 37 percent for the main index.
According to the same report, retail investors were net buyers on four of the week's five trading days, with more than 6,300 billion tomans of retail money entering the market in total; an outflow was recorded only on the final session. Average daily retail turnover last week was about 27,000 billion tomans. For comparison, the main index closed the first session of the current week, Saturday 1 August, down 0.4 percent at 5,054,000 points.
