Tehran's main index shook off a morning selloff to close up 0.49 percent at 6.099 million points

According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, Tehran Stock Exchange trading on Monday, Shahrivar 2, 1405 (August 24, 2026) opened with the main index losing about 43,000 points in early minutes, but stronger demand later in the session pushed the index up 29,864 points (0.49 percent) to close at 6,099,883 points. The equal weight index rose a sharper 0.57 percent to 1,740,074 points, indicating the day's gains were not confined to large cap names.

At the close, 499 symbols gained and 334 fell, with 271 symbols hitting buy queues against 124 hitting sell queues. Trading value in stocks, rights and equity funds reached 41,317 billion tomans. Even so, 198 billion tomans in retail money exited stocks during the session, and another 965 billion tomans left fixed income funds.
