Tehran Stock Exchange Index Hits Fresh Record of 6.543 Million Points as Equal Weight Index Diverges Lower

Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) rose 0.42 percent, about 27,000 points, to around 6,543,000 points in mid session trading on Monday, 9 Shahrivar 1405 (August 31, 2026), setting a fresh record. Per Sahmino's own live price data at 11:29am Tehran time, the index stood at 6,547,671 points, up 0.48 percent. The equal weight index, by contrast, fell 0.43 percent to about 1,820,000 points, breaking from the main index's path.
According to Donya e Eqtesad, the divergence shows demand concentrated in large, export oriented symbols, with 53 percent of symbols trading lower and 47 percent higher at mid session. Average buy order size was about 97.2 million tomans against an average sell order size of about 88.9 million tomans. At the same time, about 2.25 trillion tomans left equities and about 2.52 trillion tomans left fixed income funds, part of which the report said could return toward today's large initial public offering.
