Tehran's Residential Construction Input Price Index Rose 80 Percent Annually in Spring 1405

Iran's Statistical Center said in a report published Monday, August 10, 2026 (19 Mordad 1405), and carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad citing Tasnim, that the price index for residential construction inputs in Tehran reached 336.4 in spring 1405, up 106.8 percent from the same quarter a year earlier (point to point inflation) and up 80.0 percent over the four quarters through this spring compared with the prior year (annual inflation). The index rose 20.7 percent from winter 1404 (quarterly inflation), a slowdown of 15.3 percentage points from winter's quarterly rate of 36.0 percent. Among the input categories, "building painting" posted the highest quarterly inflation at 64.9 percent and "machinery rental" the lowest at 10.8 percent, while on a point to point basis "wood" recorded the highest rise at 208.9 percent and "machinery rental" the lowest at 28.3 percent. The construction input index is a leading indicator of building costs and, ultimately, of housing prices in Tehran.
