5 August 2026 | 3 months ago

Trading on the Tehran Stock Exchange ended on Wednesday, 14 Mordad 1405 (5 August 2026), with a new record for the main index. TEDPIX rose from 5,277,000 points at the close of the previous trading day to 5,407,000, a gain of more than 130,000 points and the highest level the index has ever reached. The equal-weighted index also stood at an all-time high of 1,534,000 points.

In Wednesday's session, 95 percent of the market traded in positive territory: 871 symbols were up against 46 down, with 697 symbols carrying buy queues and only 8 carrying sell queues. Retail money inflow into small-cap trading was reported at more than 6.2 thousand billion tomans, and the average retail purchase stood at 103 million tomans against an average retail sale of less than 65 million tomans, the lowest retail selling average in the past month.

The highest trading values on Wednesday were recorded in the chemicals, banking and petroleum products groups, and the symbols Tapico, Shasta and Vetejarat saw the largest retail money inflows. By contrast, the pharmaceuticals, food and engineering services groups saw the largest retail outflows. The equity rally came alongside a fall in the free market exchange rate and growing speculation about a de-escalation of regional tensions.
