Ship tracking data from Kpler and LSEG released on Thursday, 8 Mordad 1405 (30 July 2026) shows that a liquefied natural gas tanker controlled by QatarEnergy exited the Strait of Hormuz overnight. According to ISNA, the transit was made with the permission of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The data shows that the vessel Al Arish, which had loaded its cargo at Qatar's Ras Laffan terminal around 4 to 6 July, moved through the Strait of Hormuz on 29 July. It is the first ship recorded in tracking data to leave the waterway since 11 July, and the first QatarEnergy-controlled LNG tanker to do so since the attack on the vessel Al Rekayyat in early July.
According to Reuters, LSEG data shows the ship is now heading for Port Qasim in Pakistan and is estimated to arrive on Friday, 31 July. The Strait of Hormuz was fully open before it was closed during the war that began in late February, and about one fifth of global crude oil and liquefied natural gas trade passed through it.
