US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday, 10 July 2026, that "1,000 missiles are locked and loaded" and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that "thousands more" would immediately follow if Iranian officials acted on reported threats to assassinate him. He said the US military was prepared, for a one-year period subject to extension, to "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran."
According to IANS and The Business Standard, the remarks followed reports of assassination threats against Trump made during the funeral of Iran's former leader. US officials say they are reviewing intelligence shared by Israel about a possible plot to assassinate Trump.
