Turkish auto industry exports hit a record $24.4 billion in the first seven months of 2026

According to a report by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) published Thursday, August 6, 2026 (15 Mordad 1405), Türkiye's automotive industry posted export volume of $24.4 billion (1.16 trillion lira) in the January to July period of 2026, the highest such figure on record and a 2.6 percent increase from the same period a year earlier. The sector has broken its own January-July export record every year for the past four years, rising from $20 billion in 2023 and $20.8 billion in 2024 to $23.8 billion in 2025. Data from the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TIM) showed the country's total exports rose 3.4 percent in the seven-month period to $161.6 billion, with July alone up 2.9 percent year on year to $25.6 billion, the best July figure on record. The automotive sector's share of total exports stood at 15.1 percent, with Germany the top destination at $3.95 billion.
