US bans imports from 43 more Chinese companies over forced labour allegations
1 August 2026 | 3 months ago
The US Department of Homeland Security announced on Friday 31 July 2026 that the United States has banned imports from 43 more Chinese companies over allegations that forced labour was used in their production.
The move falls under Washington's policy of restricting goods that the department says involve forced labour somewhere in their production chain. Adding these companies to the list widens the range of goods for which American importers must document the origin.
The expansion of the list matters for global supply chains, because the listed companies typically operate in industries whose intermediate goods reach multiple markets, and an import restriction can change both the routing and the cost of sourcing those goods.
