The US House of Representatives voted late Tuesday, September 15, 2026 (24 Shahrivar 1405), for the third time since the start of the war with Iran, on a War Powers Resolution to end US military operations. According to Khabaronline, citing the Associated Press, the resolution passed 220 to 204, with every Democrat and seven Republicans voting yes, up from just four Republicans in the two previous summer votes. The vote does not force an immediate halt to operations, and President Donald Trump is expected to veto it if it reaches his desk. The war, which Trump launched on February 28, 2026 (9 Esfand 1404), has now entered its seventh month. The Congressional Budget Office says the war's cost topped 38 billion dollars as of August 1, 2026, rising by 2 to 3 billion dollars a month, and projects it will add about half a percentage point to US inflation in 2027.
