US stock indexes moved in different directions during Wednesday's session on 22 July 2026: the Dow Jones rose about 0.3 percent and the S&P 500 about 0.2 percent, while the Nasdaq slipped about 0.1 percent.
West Texas Intermediate crude climbed about 2.2 percent to near $88 and Brent rose above $95, against the backdrop of an 11th night of US strikes on Iran and concern over supply through the Strait of Hormuz. The 10-year Treasury yield sat near 4.65 percent. Investors were awaiting quarterly results from Alphabet and Tesla, the first two of the seven big technology firms, after the close.
