Sahmino Newsroom | 30 October 2026 | 2 hours ago
The price of an ounce of gold fell about 3% to near $3,900 in trading on Friday, October 30, 2026 (8 Aban 1405). ArzDigital put the level at $3,905 and Donya-e-Eqtesad at $3,900. Silver lost more than 5% and slipped below $50 for the first time since November 2025, while platinum fell 3.83% and palladium 3.78%.
The selling follows a shift in expectations for US monetary policy. According to Mehr, US personal consumption expenditures (PCE) prices rose 0.5% month on month in September, with annual PCE inflation at 3.6% and core at 3.1%. The US economy also grew at a 3.4% annualised rate in the third quarter, above the 3.2% forecast. The Federal Reserve held rates on Wednesday, October 28, but markets put the chance of a December hike at about 75%. Mehr estimates gold is on course for a second straight monthly decline in October.
