Free Trade Zone Plate Conversion Fee Rises to 100% of Customs Value; Up From 90% Under Iran's 1405 Budget (Saturday, July 4, 2026)

The fee to convert an Iranian free trade zone vehicle plate (Kish, Qeshm, Arvand, Chabahar, Mako) to a national plate has risen to 100% of customs value under the 1405 (2026/27) budget law, up from 90% through the end of 1404, per reports published June 29, 2026. Separately, traffic police have denied claims of a permanent, unrestricted nationwide travel exemption for these vehicles.
