The Statistical Center of Iran put year on year rent inflation at 31.2 percent for Khordad 1405 (June 2026), against 88.6 percent general inflation, a gap of nearly 57 percentage points. Yet registered new leases in Tehran rose close to 40 percent, and the deposit (rahn) share of total rent reached about 65 percent. Iran's Central Bank released its Khordad (the Iranian month ending June 21, 2026) inflation report on Tuesday, June 30, 2026: annual inflation at 57.7% and point-to-point inflation at 83.1%. The "housing, water, electricity and fuel" group rose just 4.7% that month, slower than food (8.7%), clothing (9.5%) and furniture (10%), echoing Sahmino's report last week on rent's lagging growth.
