The free-market dollar, which had eased to 185,900 tomans Saturday evening, bounced back to 186,400 tomans this morning, 18-karat gold was little changed, and bitcoin hovered near $64,857.

Today, Tuesday 13 Mordad 1405 (4 August 2026), Iran's markets are closed for Arbaeen, but global markets kept working: Brent stood at $84.82 at 8:07 a.m. Tehran time, 1.26 percent above Monday's close, clawing back about a fifth of Monday's slide of more than 5 percent, after Tehran denied direct talks with Washington and a cargo vessel was hit off Oman. The bourse went into the holiday green: 39 of 40 industry indices rose and 12 hit all-time highs.
