Iraq's Finance Ministry announced on October 7, 2026 (15 Mehr 1405) that the central bank has set the official dollar sale rate to the public at 1,520 dinars; the previous rate was about 1,320 dinars. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, the fall of about 13 percent in the dinar's value comes as Iraqi oil exports are depressed and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is disrupted.
