Statistical reports from the exchange supervision department of Iran's Securities and Exchange Organisation show that the number of active shareholder codes on the Tehran exchange passed 490,000 in the week to 9 Mordad 1405 (31 July 2026). The figure was published on Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405) by the Iran Capital Market News Agency (SENA).
An active shareholder is a trading code that executed at least one trade during the period under review, so the measure differs from the total number of trading codes ever issued and is a closer gauge of real retail participation.
The rise in active codes was recorded in the same week the indices advanced, with the Tehran equal weight index up 5.66 percent and the Farabourse overall index up 5.4 percent, and with retail turnover in shares and equity funds passing 26.5 trillion toman on Saturday 10 Mordad.
