Iran's over the counter equity markets extended their advance in the week to 9 Mordad 1405 (31 July 2026). According to the Iran Capital Market News Agency (SENA), in a report published on Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405), the Farabourse overall index, known as IFEX, rose 5.4 percent on the week, passed the 40,000 point mark and closed at 40,968 points.
The move above 40,000 comes alongside fresh records on the Tehran Stock Exchange. Reports from the same week show the Tehran equal weight index also gained 5.66 percent and reached its highest level on record.
The Farabourse hosts companies that do not meet the listing requirements of the Tehran exchange's first and second boards, or that prefer to trade on the base market and the small and medium enterprise board. A rise in its index is usually read as a sign of greater retail risk appetite.
