Activity at Kharg Oil Terminal Continues Uninterrupted Despite Earlier Bombardments

Hamid Bourd, CEO of National Iranian Oil Company, said on Iranian state television program Ekofa on Thursday, 5 Shahrivar 1405 (August 27, 2026), that operations on Kharg Island have not stopped for even a moment despite repeated US and Israeli bombardment during the recent war. According to Fars News Agency, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad, he said several contractors are currently repairing and upgrading the terminal's storage tanks and docks, with some projects between 20 and 30 percent complete.
Bourd said one key wartime measure was managing Iran's strategic oil storage capacity across sites both inside and outside the country. Kharg Island is Iran's main crude export terminal; loading at its western terminal had earlier resumed in mid-August 2026 after a 25 day complete halt.
