4 August 2026 | 3 months ago

Mehdi Ashja, chief executive of Ako Battery Iranian, said at the company's IPO introduction ceremony, reported on Monday, 3 August 2026 (12 Mordad 1405), that the group is targeting production and sales of about 1,440,000 automotive batteries and more than 732,000 industrial batteries in the year 1405.

He said the business began in 1361 (1982 to 1983) with the founding of the Ashja trading company, became the country's largest battery distributor in 1392 (2013 to 2014), and moved into industrial manufacturing with a car battery plant in 1397 (2018 to 2019) and an industrial battery plant in 1400 (2021 to 2022). Its product range covers industrial batteries of 4.5 to 200 amp hours, automotive batteries of 35 to 225 amp hours and motorcycle batteries of 5 to 9 amp hours. The company received knowledge based certification at the innovator level in 1402 and the highest technologist level for automotive batteries in 1404, and currently exports to Iraq, Afghanistan and Russia.

Ashja listed the main risks facing the company as the dependence of some raw materials and additives on imports, exchange rate volatility and its effect on production costs, delays in foreign currency allocation, and the car industry's shift toward electric and hybrid vehicles.
