Araghchi: Iran and Oman finalizing safe shipping route through Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart on Monday, August 17, 2026, described the latest status of bilateral talks between Iran and Oman, saying the two countries are finalizing a suitable route for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and stressed Iran's determination to continue the process. The two ministers also discussed the latest regional developments and the need to continue diplomatic efforts to prevent escalation and strengthen regional stability and security.
