Araghchi: Iran Is Reviewing Washington's Views and Will Reply Within Days
8 October 2026 · 18 hours ago
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters on Thursday, October 8, 2026 (16 Mehr 1405) that the indirect talks between Iran and the United States are continuing, with messages being exchanged through mediators. Asked about Washington's response to Iran's seven conditions, he said Iran presented its plan, which it calls the "seven-day plan", and has heard the American side's views in return.
Araghchi said Tehran is now reviewing the American views and will give its reply within the next few days. The remarks follow his earlier statement that Iran's conditions for ending the war were handed to mediators in the form of an operational plan. No details have been published on the content of the American views or on the exact timing of Iran's reply. For markets, the course of the talks is among the main drivers of the dollar rate and gold prices in Iran's domestic market and of oil prices.
