Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with Fox News on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly whose transcript was published on Friday, 3 Mehr 1405 (September 25, 2026) via the presidential website, answered a question on whether Iran was ready to dilute its stock of 60 percent enriched uranium by saying: "Yes, within the framework of international law, we are ready to accept whatever is set out in the NPT."
Pezeshkian also said Iran is ready to continue on the basis of the memorandum of understanding it had signed with the Trump administration, and on the Strait of Hormuz said that as long as the US does not let Iran's own ships pass, "naturally there will be no right of passage for other ships either." He stressed that Iran did not start the war and will not, but will respond forcefully if attacked.
Another part of the same interview, about Iran's money being blocked in China, was reported earlier on Sahmino. The nuclear file and the state of Hormuz have been the two main drivers of currency and oil market expectations in recent days.
