At the Sixteenth Government Bond Auction, 41 Percent of the Offering Sold

At its sixteenth debt auction of 1405, held on 31 Shahrivar (September 22, 2026), the government sold about 17,880 billion tomans of the roughly 43,340 billion tomans of bonds on offer, an absorption rate of 41.25 percent. According to EcoIran, citing Central Bank of Iran data, sales were about 7,480 billion tomans higher than at the previous auction, which was led by primary dealers.
Only two issues found buyers: 9,830 billion tomans of the 13,420 billion tomans of ARAD306 and about 8,000 billion of the 11,000 billion tomans of ARAD307; ARAD296, ARAD297 and ARAD299 drew no bids. Total government bond sales across the 16 auctions of the first half of the year reached 332,660 billion tomans, 32.3 percent of the bond-sale ceiling in the 1405 budget.
