In Iran's 17th Islamic treasury bond auction, held on 7 Mehr 1405 (September 29, 2026), the government sold about 57,880 billion tomans of the 144,870 billion tomans on offer across eight bond series, a 40 percent subscription rate. Two series, Arad 297 and Arad 299, found no buyers. One series, Arad 296, worth 950 billion tomans, was sold through public offering on the capital market, while the remaining five series, worth about 56,930 billion tomans, were sold to primary dealers at negotiated rates. The total was well above the 16th auction's 47,480 billion tomans. Even so, cumulative government bond sales since the start of fiscal year 1405 have reached about 390,540 billion tomans, covering only 38 percent of this year's approved bond sale ceiling in the budget.
