Iranian Customs has designated the Bashmaq border office as a specialist entry point for mobile phones and textiles, according to a customs circular reported by Mehr News Agency on Sunday, 18 October 2026. The designation opens a route for clearance procedures for those two product groups at Bashmaq; the report does not announce a tariff change or establish that import volumes have already risen. The change matters operationally to importers using the Kurdistan border route.
