Bitcoin Pulls Back From Near $87,000 to Around $84,000 After a $15.6 Billion Options Expiry

Bitcoin, which in recent days broke out of its $75,000 to $81,000 range and climbed to near $87,000, fell about 1 percent in Friday, September 25, 2026 trading to around $83,000. Boursenews attributed part of the drop to the expiry of $15.6 billion in Bitcoin options on the Deribit exchange. According to Sahmino's data, Bitcoin stood at about $84,110 as of 16:00 Tehran time on Saturday, September 26.
The same report said about $162 million of long positions and $156 million of short positions were liquidated over 24 hours, and spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $299 million on Friday. Total crypto market capitalisation stood at $2.87 trillion, and the CME FedWatch tool put the probability of a Fed rate hike in October at about 75 percent.
