BlackRock said on Monday, September 21, 2026 (30 Shahrivar 1405), as reported by Arzdigital, that Bitcoin's volatility has declined significantly in recent years, falling from around 80 percent to a range of 35 to 40 percent. Jay Jacobs, BlackRock's head of US equity ETFs, attributed the decline to greater market liquidity, growth in Bitcoin ETFs, deeper derivatives markets, and a larger base of long term investors.

Jacobs said BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), with nearly $59.87 billion in assets, has widened institutional investors' access to Bitcoin. BlackRock stressed that lower volatility does not mean sharp price swings have been eliminated, and the market can still see heavy volatility during periods of selling pressure or liquidation.
