Strategy, the company led by Michael Saylor, said on Monday, September 21, 2026, that it had purchased 950 more bitcoin for 75.7 million dollars, bringing its total holdings to 846,000 coins, about 4 percent of the 21 million bitcoin that will ever exist. The purchase was made at an average price of 79,670 dollars per coin, lifting the company's total cost basis to 63.80 billion dollars, or an average of 75,416 dollars per coin. Saylor said on his official X account that the company funded the purchase from its cash holdings rather than issuing new shares, and separately repurchased 174 million dollars of its STRC preferred stock. As of September 20, 2026, the company held 846,000 bitcoin and 6.09 billion dollars in dollar denominated assets, according to the announcement.
