Bloomberg: Iran and US Edge Toward a Possible Breakthrough; Reuters Reports a New Tehran Proposal Via Qatar
Sahmino Newsroom | 6 November 2026 | 22 hours ago
Bloomberg reported on Friday, November 6, 2026, citing a diplomat familiar with the talks, that Iran and the United States are moving closer to a possible breakthrough in efforts to end the war, with Tehran signalling readiness to discuss nuclear issues. According to the source, Iran is reviewing proposals from Qatar, the main mediator, on its nuclear activities, and Bloomberg also reported a recent phone call between Donald Trump and Qatar's leader on easing tensions. Talks have been stalled since a provisional peace deal reached in June collapsed.
Al Jazeera, citing Reuters, reported that a senior Iranian official said on Thursday, November 5, that Iran had offered the US a new nuclear and peace proposal through Qatari mediators, to be discussed only after Washington meets Tehran's seven demands; the US is examining it. The same report notes that Trump said on Thursday he may have to "destroy" the rest of Iran and that Axios reported US Central Command is preparing for a resumption of major operations.
