Brent Slips Back Toward $105 on Tuesday After Touching a One-Week High Above $106
13 October 2026 | 8 days ago
Brent crude fell to $105.45 a barrel on Tuesday 21 Mehr 1405 (13 October 2026), according to a data provider, down 1.13 percent on the previous day and ending a three-session winning streak. The price is 0.22 percent lower than a month ago but still 69.02 percent above a year earlier.
On Monday 20 Mehr, EcoIran reported, Brent had risen above $106 despite news of a Russia-Ukraine "energy ceasefire", its highest level in a week. The same provider names two opposing forces: Russia partly lifted its diesel export restrictions on 18 Mehr (10 October) after an agreement with the US, which eases fuel supply pressure; but US lawmakers argue the Trump-Putin deal may break the law barring Russian energy imports, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure continue. Houthi attacks on Riyadh's airport have also raised political pressure on the Trump administration to back Saudi Arabia.
Oil is the main external driver of Iran's foreign-currency income, and its moves feed into expectations in the domestic currency and gold markets. The figures above are live market quotes and change through the trading day.
