Bushehr governor: 60 million cubic metres of South Pars gas output restored, 8,456 units damaged in the war

The governor of Bushehr province said in remarks published on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026 (13 Mordad 1405) that 60 million cubic metres of lost South Pars gas output has been brought back into production. South Pars is Iran's largest gas resource, and part of its capacity had been knocked offline during the recent conflict.
He also said a total of 8,456 residential, commercial and livelihood units in Bushehr province were damaged in the recent war, and that reconstruction work on them is under way.
The return of South Pars capacity matters for Iran's gas balance in the months ahead, particularly as one-day-a-week electricity restrictions begin to be applied at industrial estates across the country this week.
