US Central Command (CENTCOM) posted imagery early Saturday (August 22, Tehran time) on its official X account showing an MH-60R helicopter landing on the destroyer USS Ross, naming the ship one of more than 20 US warships supporting the naval blockade against Iran. CENTCOM claimed that, as of August 21 (30 Mordad 1405), US forces had rerouted 68 commercial vessels, disabled three ships, and boarded two others as part of the blockade. The announcement came two days after the UAE fully suspended trade and financial dealings with Iran, adding further pressure on the country's shipping routes and oil exports.
