Central Bank extends the validity period for foreign-currency allocation requests

The Central Bank of Iran has extended the validity period for eligible foreign-currency allocation requests. According to a report by the newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad on Saturday, 25 July 2026, the period has been raised to 80 days.
Currency allocation is the stage at which the Central Bank assigns official foreign exchange to an import order registration. The short validity of these requests has been a persistent problem for importers, because once the deadline expires the process has to be started again.
Separately, the deputy to the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said on Saturday that the ministry is seeking to define new sources for supplying the foreign currency industry needs, in regular weekly meetings with the Central Bank. Securing currency for imports of raw materials and machinery has become harder in recent months amid disruption to oil exports and maritime transport, and it feeds directly into the output of listed companies and producer-side inflation.
