25 July 2026 · 3 months ago

Declines on Tehran's open currency market on Saturday, 25 July 2026 were not confined to a single currency: the whole board moved lower. In the 17:35 Tehran time update, the US dollar's sell rate was 1,902,500 rials (190,250 tomans) and its buy rate 1,883,500 rials (188,350 tomans). The euro traded at 216,300 tomans, sterling at 250,900 tomans and the Swiss franc at 232,500 tomans.

Currencies tied to regional trade corridors also fell: the UAE dirham at 51,440 tomans, the Turkish lira at 4,080 tomans, the Chinese yuan at 28,200 tomans, the Russian ruble at 2,450 tomans and 100 Iraqi dinars at 12,640 tomans.

Dollar rates in related markets closed tightly clustered: the remittance dollar at 189,800 tomans, the Istanbul dollar at 189,900 tomans, and both the Sulaymaniyah and Herat rates at 190,100 tomans, leaving those corridors less than half a percent apart from the Tehran market. On Sahmino's own price data, the US dollar was down 1.53% on the day.
