Mohammad Sadegh Mofatteh, deputy to Iran's minister of industry, mining and trade, said on Saturday, July 25, 2026 (3 Mordad 1405), in a television interview published by Mehr News Agency that, given the country's conditions, the foreign-currency supply situation is being reviewed in continuous meetings with the central bank, and that the ministry is working to direct a larger share of FX resources to the industrial and production sector.
He said the effort is being pursued on two tracks: first, defining new sources of foreign currency, and second, reforming FX distribution policy, so that industrial units' currency needs are managed more efficiently and the allocation process is made as effective as possible.
Mofatteh added that FX files are also reviewed in the ministry's internal meetings and that, given the constraints, the ministry has no choice but to prioritise, while trying to ensure that production and product supply are not restricted by currency problems.
