Türkiye's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said in an official statement on Thursday, August 6, 2026 (15 Mordad 1405), that daily output at the Gabar oil field in Şırnak province had reached a fresh record of 83,300 barrels per day. The ministry described the field, which it called the hub of the country's oil production, as having broken its own record again. Bayraktar linked the increase to the "terror-free Türkiye" process, a draft bill for which, titled the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion, was submitted to parliament on Wednesday, August 5. The ministry said more than 50 million barrels of crude have been produced from the Gabar fields since 2021.
