Daroupakhsh Raw Materials Loses Preferential Currency for Its Pharmaceutical Inputs
19 August 2026 · 2 months ago
Daroupakhsh Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Manufacturing Company, traded under the symbol Detmad (TMVD) on the Tehran Stock Exchange, said in a disclosure on the Codal system on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (28 Mordad 1405), according to Ecoiran citing Hamshahri, that under a letter from Iran's Food and Drug Administration reclassifying products made by pharmaceutical raw material manufacturers, the company was removed from eligibility for preferential currency as of August 16, 2026 (25 Mordad 1405). As a result, the company will now purchase intermediate materials using the negotiated market exchange rate.
The company said in its disclosure that pricing for all of its products will no longer be subject to Food and Drug Administration price controls, and will instead be set based on updated production costs and competitive market conditions. The change is part of a broader policy of gradually phasing out preferential currency for imported pharmaceutical inputs, which could affect the cost structure of raw material producers and the final price of some medicines.
