Deputy head of Iran's Small Industries Organization: the president has ordered that production units not be shut down under energy constraints

The deputy head of Iran's Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization said on Saturday, 3 Mordad 1405 (25 July 2026), that the president has stressed that production units must not be shut down under conditions of energy constraint.
The position comes as the energy imbalance has been one of the main limits on Iran's industrial output in recent years. Oil industry officials had said earlier the same day that Mordad and Shahrivar are the peak consumption months, and that getting through this period will require consumption management given the constraints on fuel production and imports.
A policy of keeping production units running matters directly for exchange-listed industries, particularly the basic metals, cement and chemical groups, which are heavy energy users.
