Dollar Hits 181,500 Tomans in Free Market, a Recent High
10 July 2026 · 3 months ago
The US dollar's free market rate in Tehran reached 181,500 tomans on Thursday, July 9, 2026 (18 Tir), up 1,305 tomans from 180,195 tomans the previous day. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, the rate is up more than 6,000 tomans from 175,400 tomans recorded on Saturday, July 4 (13 Tir). Currency market analysts attributed the rise mainly to heightened political and security risk from the escalating Iran-US conflict and growing precautionary demand for safe-haven assets.
