Dollar Reaches the 205,000 Toman Channel While the Car Market Stays Muted

The free market dollar in Iran rose in Saturday, 7 Shahrivar 1405 (August 29, 2026) trading, following Friday evening remarks by the president on the economy, reaching the 205,000 toman channel. According to Ecoiran, despite the rise the car market showed no uniform reaction, with prices staying choppy and subdued. Data from tgju.org at 19:36 put the dollar at 206,165 tomans, up about 2.8 percent from Thursday, 5 Shahrivar's close of 200,600 tomans and 3.13 percent from a week earlier. Sahmino's own price feed recorded the dollar near 205,800 tomans at the same hour, up 2.59 percent on the day.
