Gap Between Free Market and National Card Dollar Narrows to 8,000 Tomans

According to Khabaronline, published at 15:35 on Sunday, 8 Shahrivar 1405 (August 30, 2026), as the free market dollar climbed to 206,000 tomans, the rationed dollar rate available via national ID card at select bank exchange branches rose 3,000 tomans to 198,000 tomans. Per the report, which cited Khabar Foori, the gap between the national card rate and the free market rate has now narrowed to about 8,000 tomans.
Sahmino's own price data also recorded the free market dollar at 206,010 tomans as of 19:59 on Saturday, 7 Shahrivar, consistent with the reported figure. The rationed national-card dollar rate, intended for limited currency purchases at select bank branches, has narrowed its gap with the free market rate in recent days.
